Getting the perfect headshot is key to the success of all actors. In a lot of cases casting directors give themselves only seconds to decide when looking at your picture if you are suitable for a role. So when it comes to headshots, being able to stand out from the crowd is of the highest priority to the actor. As well as getting a striking image to grab the attention of potential employers you want also to be able to look natural and true to yourself. Casting directors can find it frustrating when the person who turns up for an audition looks different from how they look in their photograph.
Your headshot not only needs to show what you look like but also an aspect of your personality that people will want to work with.
A previous background as an actor has enabled James to fully understand the industry and how important headshots are as your initial selling point. James liaises with casting directors and agents on a regular basis to keep up to date with the ever-changing industry and to enable him to get the perfect shots for your portfolio.
James prides himself on being able to capture you at your best. He avoids formulaic lighting set ups and overly glamorous studio sessions. Everybody has different features and requires different set ups when it comes to lighting, backgrounds and positions. He will give you time to relax during the session and will also work with you as an actor giving you tried and tested stimuli to get images that look perfect, natural, alive and will stand out among the crowd.
